金属离子的选择性是依据进流液的pH 而决定在某些的pH 范围内, 交换容量会很严重的下降.

选择性的顺序如下:

再生药剂的选择可用盐酸或硫。对于除铜应用, 建议用硫酸! 建议用硷NaOH 再生将树脂转换成Na 型, 并将pH 变成原来的进水条件。
